What the hell?

Its do or die time for the Calgary Flames. With 8 games remaining in their season this is a must win game for them or basically their season might as well be over.

What's thier deal?

Tom Kostopoulos 2G 3A +2 in his last 4GP
Jarome Iginla 3G 2A -1 in his last 4GP
Steve Staios 0G 1A +3 in his last 2 GP

Oh I see

The Kings ice is slow and this may impact the Flames play significantly. The Flames have been connecting with big stretch passes and we have seen their offense clicking very well lately BUT on the L.A. ice this style of play is harder to pull off, it has less probability of working.

I expect the Flames to come out hard and fast after that heart breaking loss to the Ducks but they will face a tough D and a Goaltender who is working up to the top ranks in the NHL.

Between the flaming pipes

The Flames lost the opener of a four-game swing and are likely to go back to Kiprusoff tonight. He is 13-3-1 in his last 17 versus the Kings, posting a 1.95 goals-against average and a 1-1-1 mark in three games this year.

Royal Guard

The Kings fell to 0-1-1 on a five-game homestand and will host the Sharks on Thursday. Los Angeles trails San Jose by six points for first place in the Pacific Division. They haven't lost three straight overall since Jan. 17-20.

Quick will get the start tonight and is 3-3-0 with a 2.15 GAA versus the Flames.

Los Angeles has won two straight over Calgary since dropping the first meeting of the season between the clubs on Oct. 10. The Flames have won eight of the past 11 meetings overall and haven't lost a season series to the Kings since 2000-01.

Calgary has lost two straight at the Staples Center.

and the Kings problem is..

They have 86 points with 10 games left to play, and are in a three-way tie for fifth place in the Western Conference.

I think Hagger tried to sell a boarding on the Greene penalty, that's what the jawing was about. Richardson was calling him out on that.

Kings very unorganized so far, missed passes, little flow...what's up with them playing at home?

I don't ever think I've seen a 5 on 4 PP with 2 of the PK with no sticks.
