Surprised somebody else didn't offer him a shitload of money after his performances in the playoffs. The Birdman is awesome.

I thought he was gone for sure. Pretty interesting he stuck around. In his position I would have went for the money.

Haven't really heard his name pop up on any other teams radars.

He has good hands. Plays great team D. Changes tempo when he is in the game and he is a vet. He had to be on someones radar. I wonder if he let it be known early that he was going to resign with the Heat?

which shocks me a little. he played well enough to get looks. the idea he is a 40 minute starter is far fetched. but 20 minutes and a spark off the bench for a team who needs a solid big man. Chris Anderson is perfect.

Prolly thinks he's gonna get another ring in Miami.

Oh...I'm sure he was, just didn't see his name brought up a lot with all the recent UFA talks going on.

Your last sentence wouldn't surprise me though, if that were the case.

The addition of Anderson is one major reason the Heat won this year. The guy does all the little things right and, IMO, the stats really don't tell the story about that guy.

:agree:

Without the Birdman I don't think Miami beats Indy.

I think you are correct. Forgot just how many consecutive baskets he made. I watched probably 50-60 Heat games this year and became a big fan of just how effective Anderson has been and the effort that guy gives every minute he is on the court. He will give 20-25 very intense minutes every game...makes a good percentage of his shots, rebounds, picks up loose balls, passes well...what's not to like about that guy? Last year Miami was very week inside; this year; not the case.

I'm pretty sure Denver is paying him 4.7 M amnesty $ again this year, so he might as well stay in Miami this year and then weigh his options again next year.

The thing is Birdman is still getting $5 mil this upcoming season after being amnestied by Denver. He's essentially getting another $1.3 mil this season from the Heat. Birdman is great for this offensive system, but he would not fit in other team's systems if you pay attention to his style of play.
