Aoki has never been in Minors other than rehab stints, but says he understands he's not played up to standards and will work to get back.

Just catching up on the news from yesterday. Had no idea he had an option but nice to know. Glad the team realizes his play isn't acceptable and seems like he is handling the demotion properly.

When I heard there were seven different roster moves, I had to double-take and read it again. I don't think any other GM, even during the Piniella years, even made that bold a move.

I could be wrong, though.
