agreed, not a big fan of it at all despite the hype.

This stuff is pretty fantastic for the holidays.

I think it's also a great time of year to drink the Southern Tier stouts (Choklat, Thick Mint, Creme Brulee). Can't go wrong with any of the dark Samuel Smith beers either.

I usually like Stone's dark stuff. That Black IPA is some of the best beer I've ever strained through my kidneys. And ST's Creme Brulee is pretty good but it's hard to find where I am. I know of one place that sells it, but they're usually sold out when I go to get it

I haven't had the Sublimely Self-Righteous in forever. Black IPAs tend to be hit or miss (IMO), but that one was perfect.

That's the one. I had some of that in Pennsylvania a couple years ago at a family get together. We had bought some of the mixed cases; I kept drinking this, while everyone else was scrambling for the Ruination IPAs.

Any good local beers in Columbus that I need to get my wife's family to bring me when they head down here this evening? I love Land Grant, but not sure they have a holiday beer.
I can't think of any good holiday beers off the top of my head, but I'm not a huge Christmas Ale fan (unless I'm doing Christmas Bombs). I think Barley's MIGHT have a good one, but they don't bottle, so you'd have to get a growler.

Has anyone tried Fireside Chat by 21st Amendment? It's my favorite brewery but I can't find it anywhere near me, dying to try it.

I generally like their beers. I think I have seen this one, but didn't pick it up. Not a big fan of Christmas beers.

I grabbed a 4-pack of Founders Breakfast Stout instead.

One that is being release is the Founders CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout). Its about $25 for a bomber. It has not been released in bottles in about 6 years. If you get some let it get closer to room temp before drinking.

It is but its worth one bottle. Most places have sold out of them not long after they get them. One place here in Toledo had a wait list of 25 people.

I got my bottle yesterday, I plan on opening it within the next few days. I actually just had some BCBS last night.

I really wish they had released CBS in 12 oz bottles though.

I agree I would rather the 12 oz bottle.
