What year, in your opinion, had the best single year for movies?

I'm going with 1994.

The Lion King

Forrest Gump

Shawshank

Speed

Pulp Fiction

The Crow

True Lies

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

Dumb and Dumber

AirHeads

Legends of the Fall

Some GREAT dramas in there, along with a couple great action flicks and side splitting comedies.

Replace Godzilla with Half Baked. Bob Saget's most classic role to date.

That movie is to the books what DragonBall Evolution is to the show/manga. Can't argue with the others though, solid year.

Hey, I liked Dune. Maybe it was Sting when he got whacked that did it for me.

It's not terrible on its own ( it can't be, Patrick Stewart is in it ) but like I said it basically takes a shit on the books. SciFi miniseries was better IMO.

Good call. Lots of classics here.

Dune was WAY fraking over rated, IMHO. Everyone got hot and bothered about Sting being in the movie and to me it was a long nap. Didn't care for Conan the Destroyer. They tried to make someone other than Arnold the hero and it didn't work.

Most of the others though read like a who's who of great films. We found out who 'Freddy' was and why he hated teens, Karate Kid was huge, as was Footloose...lots of classics.
