This is one sandwich I just don't get. I always see it with powdered sugar sprinkled on top.


Not what I'm after in a sammich. Each to is own en sech, but that shit is gross.

I don't do the powdered sugar and most times it's served with jam.

Still one of my favorites though.

I'm not a sweet toothy fella, so it just has never appealed to me. Tried it once, and it just wasn't muh bag.

There used to be a chain restaurant, Bennigans, that had the best deep fried Monte Cristo's. I never cared for the powdered sugar they put on it, and I definitely never used the raspberry jam they served with it. But the deep fried ham turkey and cheese was amazing. Your pictures above looks even better from a meat perspective, but it looks griddled not battered and deep fried. I guess that probably means you can have it more than once a decade without a triple bypass to follow, but I miss that greasy sammich.
