Which is the best? Use your own criteria.
Another no-loser category... 2 great films.
Totally disagree.Another shocker for me.
I really like Saving Private Ryan, but head-to-head against Shawshank? Not even close for me??

SPR was just a bit too cliched for me...still enjoyed it very much, although maybe "enjoyed" is a strange word to use here.
"Hey, the radio man got his face blown clean off...I'm enjoying this!!!"
"Whoohooo, Tim Robbins is getting raped again!"
Spielberg played the audience (including me) like a violin with SPR. I was horrified when I was supposed to, almost in pain in other parts and blubbering like a baby on cue. But I still think it was a powerful film and a great reminder of what a generation of Americans went through to fight that war.
And no, not a single complaint about Shawshank.
While I acknowledge that it is not in the class of SPR, I still am not all that thrilled with having to leave Stripes behind.
One of my absolute favorite comedies.
...........none at all..........."Saving Prvt. Ryan".........by a ~landslide~,.......I hear that AMC/ch. Is playing it all-day on Memorial-Day,........I just checked what ch. It was on a second ago and "Shawshank" is on right now, too.View attachment 15705

......yup,........Matt Damon's trailer was always "rockin" when I visited him during that sequel/filming.....*sigh*.In related news, Mother was a fluffer girl for "Shaving Ryan's Privates".
