I think Seattle just did it against a very potent NO offense. Glad the Broncos don't have to play at Seattle. I thought that the Saints might be able to take advantage of Browner and Thurmond not playing, but that was clearly wrong.

Yes it was.

The best defensive performance I have ever seen though was the Bears in XX.

Given who they played, I'd have to say hell yeah! Not the best defensive game ever by Seattle but it's up there. Best ever by Seattle, the Seahawks still hold records for in a total annihilation of the Chiefs back in the 80s.

Its weird to think that used to be a rivalry. Didn't Derrick Thomas get half of his sacks against Seattle?

That Bears defense is considered by most to be perhaps the GOAT. Seattle obviously has a lot of work to do in order to be held in that high of esteem. Still, the game has changed a lot since then, and I don't think that Tony Eason was quite the QB that Brees is.

It was a very impressive performance by the whole Seattle team. All 3 phases impressed me.

I think you might be right. He was a major pain in the ass for Seattle back then.

Certainly can't disagree with that. I just found it most noteworthy how well the Seahawks were able to defend the NO passing attack. On the plays that Brees wasn't pressured, guys like Wright and Sherman were able to knock accurate throws out of the hands of receivers like Graham and Colston. Not something that one sees often.

If I remember correctly he had 7 sacks in one game on Krieg in the Dome. Hawks won!!:suds:

I was there in Kansas City as a kid. Krieg hit skansi on the last play to win 17-16. Arrowhead was stunned.

Escaped what would have been Thomas' 8th sack on that play.

When you have a good pass rush, The DBs don't have to cover as long. Which makes their job easier.
But I do like Seattle's DBs . They're all big and can run. Love their size, as anyone 1 of them can match up w/ a TE. Which makes for fewer match up problems.
Still confused how they got all those guys ( W/ the exception of Thomas ) in the 5th or 6th round of the draft.

As great as that game was, it sadly goes down as one of our greatest games in Seahawk history.
