Rolling Stones in L. A--1972

Neil Diamond in San Diego--1976

Doobie Brothers in San Diego--1976

Loggins & Messina--in San Diego too many times too mention the date--probably the one group that sounded as good live as they did on record

Last but not least, Linda Ronstat, The Eagles, & Fleetwood Mac on my 30th birthday at the "old" San Diego football stadium in downtown.

I saw them in DC on the 4th of July that tour. Stevie Wonder opened. It was just as he was entering his creative peak. Great show. I've seen so many great concerts since then it's impossible to name one that stands above the rest but that was one of the best.

Fishbone...goddamn! Never seen anything like that since. Its one thing for a band to be good, another thing for a band to be tight in a live setting...but to be both of those and on top of that have the most awesome stage presence? I mean these guys bounced the whole fucking show, most of them are multi-instrumentalists and to see them CATCH THEIR HORNS AS THEY FLY FROM SIDESTAGE THEN THROW THEM BACK OFF SIDESTAGE WHEN DONE PLAYING WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT?!?!?!?!?!?!

If there is ever footage released of them at that '91 Lolla in Dallas, I will pay for it no matter the price.

They played our spring concert when I was in college as the opener for Maceo Parker. Incredible set (Maceo's band was really great as well of course), I was already a fan but they made a lot of new fans that night I think.

The best for me was probably Whitesnake opening for Motley Crue. The one that surprised me the most was Carrie Underwood ... big fan and have seen her many times and Keith Urban. Keith was amazing, underrated guitar skills and put more energy into that show than any other performer/group that I have ever seen. I cannot recommend seeing Keith Urban enough, especially if you like guitars.

Prince at the old Continental Airlines Arena (or whatever they were calling it at the time). It was the "Musicology" tour so it would have been 2004. My ex-wife has the free album but I still have the memories

When I saw PF they had just released Wish You Were Here, but basically did a perfect Dark Side of the Moon. Extremely good but they were never my favourite band.

I'd forgotten about George T. Saw him at the Commodore Ballroom as well. Great small venue. I voided a blank cheque and he singed it. "Pay to the order of "my name" $1,000,000 of Rock and Roll." I used to have it next to my only other autograph, Don Cherry and Blue, but somewhere along the way, somebody 5 finger discounted it from me.

have you heard about Phish's Dinner and a Movie series they're doing while everyone is locked in their homes?

Every tuesday night they pick a concert from the archives and live stream it so you can watch it "with" friends.

Me and 3-7 friends have been linking up with the houseparty app and watching it every week. Nice to have some social interaction to look forward to.

Phish also provides a recipe (the dinner to the show's movie) for folks to cook if they want, but that's gay. We just get drunk/stoned and watch the show.

I saw Midnight Oil give a free show in Dallas that was outstanding as well as scary....they were just exploding in the US then and the crowd that came was probably 10X what was expected. People were climbing buildings to get a better look at the band. A gal next to me went down like a shot and came back up crying and holding a hefty wooden clothes hanger....somebody threw it off a rooftop and hit her in the head, WTF????
The band was way into it and it was fun to watch Peter Garrett lurching around like a bald Frankenstein and robodancing...he was later an MP in Australia.

I think my personal favorite is probably last year... Lacuna Coil played at the Rock USA festival and my wife and I got to the very front; right at the stage - no one in front of us except security... They were rocking to us! ...And they absolutely killed it!

That concert was also very literally the hottest day of the year at the hottest time of day. We were absolutely drenched in sweat and gassed. It took us a good two hours of hiding in the shade of a random pickup truck parked on the grounds and a couple gallons of water from the emergency tent to recover.
