he's had 3 consecutive 1000 yd rushing seasons behind a subpar O-line. he's not good, he shouldnt be a feature back.. but he can't find a roster spot anywhere?...
can't help but wonder if it has anything to do with last summer's "rumors"..
Just look at the FA market for running backs this season -- Nobody values the position. With the exception of a few special talents in the draft, most people treat the position with a plug and play approach. Ced is now getting up there in age, has trouble off the field, and generally presents himself as a complainer.
I know RBs isnt considered the most valuable position on the roster in today's NFL...
but Peyton Hillis and Brandon Jacobs had their own issues with production, lockerroom politics etc and they got signed as a priority.. they might be better, but I wouldnt have considered them that much better
my other post was more or less just a conspiricay theory. we're after the draft and he literally cant get signed for the vet minimum.. it suprises me a bit...
You're probably on to something..... Who wants to sign an almost over-the-hill, gay locker room cancer!
I think Hillis had a market because he is a young back that played on a bad team. I have no idea why there was a market at all for Jacobs - He seems less capable than Benson at this point.
Honestly, I think Benson's complaining about carries is the issue that most teams look at..... Back when we picked him up it was no risk/high reward - That's not necessarily the case anymore.
that's a legit complaint.
Most NFL teams are going to agree with him, it ain't rocket science.
as for the history of beating up room mates, that might be a problem.
With the exception of a few, RB are a dime a dozen. Benson is past his prime and Hillis has much less tread on his tires. Jacobs was signed as a backup likely as insurance more than anything else (just as Benson would be if he is). That about sums it up.
