Beans are eaten by lots of people, whether in a bowl of water, mashed, spread around enchiladas, tacos, nachos, used as dip during gameday, etc. but whats the point of beans?

to me, they have no taste. its considers a boring food, in fact, its the worst food in the world. you take a bite out of beans, its like eating rotten potatoes.

why can we just eat simpler and more enjoyable foods like a bacon/egg taco, steak w/corn or peas, meatloaf, etc? beans are a waste of time.

the more you eat em, the more you fart,
the more you fart, the better you feel,

Protein? It is the only reason I can think why people eat them. Cheap protein that has a long shelf life.

It's one of those foods that has been with us for thousands of year.
A staple.
Easy to grow and cheap.
Yeah, by themselves have no taste, but are great when flavor is added, kind of like potato chips.
Who doesn't like ranch style beans or refried beans or pork/beans or baked beans.
It's the shiznits.
And chili just wouldn't be right if you didn't add beans.

you don't put beans in chili?
:bullshit:

Funny, because in chili cookout competitions your not supposed to put in beans... But it is thought throughout that chili has beans in it... Not sure where that came from...

Chili without beans is called Texas Style Chili. Just a Tex-Mex version of the real thing with beans in it.

Beans are cheap, have a shelf-life of forever, are high in protein and go with just about anything.

I wanna start growing em'.

since i've stopped eating all flour and rice, beans are my staple with any meat dish.

i cook a pound every few days in a pressure cooker.

i also make my own hummus from garbanzo beans i cook.

delicious.

They're also damn near a perfect food. Great source of protein, carbs, and fiber, as well as a bunch of minerals that we need. Of course you have to season them. That's the way real food works.

CORN is a good "Why do we eat it" question.

CORN is a good "Why do we eat it" question.

along with "why do we force feed corn to cows"?

answer to both: because we subsidize farmers to grow far more than we need, so we turn it into unhealthy garbage like doritos and such, or turn it into high fructose corn syrup and put it in just about every food you can find in a grocery store, or force cows to eat it even though they can't digest it properly.
