Baylor RB Seastrunk says he will win Heisman

He also said he was fastest RB in college football. He just came out and said it, nobody asked him.

What does this do for you? Good move?

You really can't win the heisman as a running back if people don't know who you are. At least this way if he does have a great start to the year people may notice. I don't see how a heisman claim will hurt him at all

You mean like when he doesn't even come close and CFB collectively points and laughs?

Yeah that might hurt a little.

This kid is just another in a recent trend of RB's who, coming out of HS, were told they were the greatest thing since sliced bread and then they come to find out that they are merely above average, or even mediocre in the college game.

He already transferred from Oregon. Didn't like the competition.

I've seen it first hand with Aaron Green.

Well if you remember he did have that long run against K-St where he outran everyone.

...ohh wait, it was Kansas St.

This guy is just trying to get his name out there. I do think he can put up good numbers, considering the defense is on the field for only a minute or 2 each drive.

They're told they're so amazing by everyone around them and when reality slaps them in the face they can't deal with it. "It must be everyone elses fault I'm doing bad. The coaches don't see my potential. I'm not getting the ball enough."

So then he makes an over-compensatory remark like this.

so he's going to get injured for the season in the first game then?

The Madden curse, coming to college ftb as well. Open to not just great players, but also slapdicks

This is not a recent trend.

He better have knocked on wood or I see a season-ending injury in this kid's future.

I like this post. In my opinion if a runningback is gonna win it, it's gonna be Yeldon or Gurley. Or another good back I'm overlooking.

Or someone who has yet to emerge onto the scene,

a la Barry Sanders riding the pine behind Thurman Thomas @ Oklahoma St.

The only way a non-QB will win the Heisman now is if he plays for one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the BCS rankings.

Not even a 2,000 yd rusher?

Hmm... maybe in a lean year for Heisman candidates, and if he has a high number of tds, and if he plays for a team in the top 5 or 6 with no more than 1 loss, and if he puts up great numbers on top tier defenses.

He'd have to be from the SEC to do that.
