Band of Brothers
A Dreamer...trying to find my way home for dinner
The best teams from the NL and AL will face off in what is known as The Battle of the Bay tonight. That's right I am saying it the Giants are the best team in the NL with all due respect to the Dodgers...... Did I just say that ?.....Fuck the Dodgers.
The A's are the best team right now in the AL riding right along with Detroit. Their big trade for Samardzija and Hammel on the 4th of July blew a hole through a bunch of teams plans who are sitting on their ass's waiting for the trade deadline. Billy Beane is going all in this year with one of the lower payrolls in baseball and for that he has my attention and all of MLB too. Seeing those players in the A's dugout yesterday when Samardzija took the bump was a snapshot of how baseball trades can lift a team to even higher places. The A's had a little extra pep in their step yesterday and the team responded with a win.
The Giants hit the wall hard after posting a 42-21 record early on as injuries to Pagan, Belt, Casilla and Cain added to the drop in the standings. The Giants are slowly getting their players back and they could add Pagan and Scutaro back in the next week to two weeks. Pagan and Scutaro might not be able to play full time but their leadership will really help. Having a guy like Scutaro mentor Panik and show the kid the ropes at 2nd base might let the Giants go after other players to fill a certain spot in the line up.
The Giants did not all of a sudden go bad. You don't go 20 games over .500 early in the first 60 games if you don't have talent. The Giants will be there at the end and you can take that to the bank. The A's are on their way too and oh boy what a time we will have in the Bay if these two teams meet in the World Series.
Both of these teams have what it takes to get to the big show at the end and tonight they match up in a interleague showdown to see who can draw first blood. The next four games should be tons of fun and the competition will be top notch. It's the Battle of the Bay ! Let's get it on ! Yes !
Go Giants !!
