I think St Johns gets an 8 or 9 seed and probably wins their first round matchup....but loses in the 2nd round of the Tourney. That's the kind of team they strike me as.

Iowa has been playing really good ball....
We were playing better earlier this year imo but it's nice to have a team win close games and fight all game long . Shot like shit the last 4 and still finding ways to win so that's good . Offense will eventually start clicking again . Too many weapons not to

'Nova is going to get bounced early in the Tourney....

Remember when Jay Wright did that nearly every year? Dude wins a couple titles and he's a genius. The tourney format definitely a fickle beast

In fairness I do think Wright has gotten a lot better as a coach during his time there. Especially in the last 5-6 years.

But, yeah I agree with you to an extent. They seemingly always used to get bumped out early, a lot of times in the 2nd round when they should have made it a lot deeper in the Tourney.

Last 3 times they've made it past the first weekend, they've gone to the FF 3 times and have 2 titles. Nova has been awesome the last 4 years. Their loss in 2015 against NC State was one of the biggest fluke losses I can remember.

FTR they lost in the third (second) round two years ago but my point was the six straight seasons before the title that Nova didn't make it out of the first weekend. Was just saying how much different Wright is viewed from then to now (and rightfully so)

Yeah, I know they lost to Wisconsin in the R32. Wisconsin played well that game. The loss in 2015 against NC State was a complete fluke, they shot like crap that game, and had great looks all game. And I understand that he didn't get out of the first weekend between 2010 and 2015, but the 5 years prior he made a FF, 2 E8's and 3 S16's, at a program that had dipped when he took over. I just don't think it's fair to say he got bounced early nearly every year, when his first 5 tournaments he made it to the 2nd weekend 4 of those. Plus that run between 2011-2013 actually made him change how he evaluated kids coming out of high school, so in the long run it was probably better for him.

I remember 'Nova constantly under-achieving......but sticking with Wright has paid huge dividends.

2005 - Played to seed line - lost in S16
2006 - Underachieved to seed line by one game - lost in E8
2007 - Played to seed line - lost in R64
2008 - Overachieved to seed line by 2 games - lost in S16
2009 - Overachieved to seed line by 2 games - lost in FF
2010 - Underachieved to seed line by 2 games - lost in R32
2011 - Played to seed line - lost in R64
2012 - Missed tournament
2013 - Played to seed line - lost in R64

Played to seed line 4 times, underachieved twice, overachieved twice. Since then he has two titles and 3 R32 exits.

Loss here by Nova essentially give Marquette the regular season title.

You're purposefully leaving out 14/15 for some reason I wonder why that is lol. That's all I was saying.....four years ago the view On Wright was completely different. That's all. Dude has it on lock down now. Two titles in three years and doing it with players with tenure and not as much NBA hype. It's been good for the game.
