This year feels wide open, with so many NL teams tanking the 8 good teams are all capable of winning the pennant. And the AL seems pretty evenly matched as well, no obvious #1 seeds.

You're not even close, the favorites are the Cubs and Giants. But the AL is pretty wide open, and the Mets are certainly in the discussion. Could happen.

Probably a good bet, 3 pennants in a row is damn hard. Yankees did it of course 16 years ago, and before that the As in the early 70s. It's pretty rare.

They certainly do need him and they certainly need Price to have an even bigger year. Defense must be on point as well.

There isn't a better defensive OF than the one in Boston.

You don't have to go to the 70s for the next team to do it. The A's did it '88 - '90.

Red Sox - 8/1
Giants - 10/1
Astros - 12/1
Mets - 14/1
...
Royals - 25/1

The Royals are the 8th favorite in the AL and the Mets are the 3rd favorite in the NL.

That matchup is certainly possible. Both teams are in contention. But it is a LONG shot, at this point.
