The Bottom line is back in those days goalies protected their crease. During the video Billy was shoving Ruff away from him so he could see the puck. I have no idea if there was goalie interference at the time, but it probably wasn't called much if it was.

Cherry wouldn't have an issue with the pushing and shoving, but the butt end in the face when Ruff is skating by behind the play I don't think he'd like so much.

But like Boss said, you never know what kind of a reaction you'd get from him.

Billy never cared about what people said though. He was enemy #1 after the Gretzky incident. Fortunately the stick missed.
