They gave Moore an error like they should have so it is unearned.
Oh good. I never listen to the telecast because I can't stand most of it. Often watching something else on the TV while the game is on my PC.

Like we were watching Andor during most of it.

But really, Munoz should have had that out and likely would have had the save. I'm tired of shitty umps impacting games.

It's absurd that umpires even have the opportunity to make game outcomes all about themselves.

This is why I cannot wait for ABS/Hawkeye. The tech that MLB will be using is exactly the same as pro tennis has used for 20 years.

It's beyond stupid that they're doing a review/challenge system for it. Starting back in 05, tennis players had 2 challenges per set. It sped up the game a lot, which was great, but it was a needless waste of time to go through the review process at all when Hawkeye is accurate down to 2-3 millimeters. FINALLY, now, for most tournaments Hawkeye does all the line calling and they even added an electronic voice that sounds like a line referee calling balls out. It was amazing how quickly players and fans got used to it. It's literally hundreds of judgement calls per match that are now decided instantly and more accurately than a human could ever be.

Tennis line judges were all volunteers and it still took the tennis establishment more than a decade to move from the challenge system to all electronic calling. The MLB umpires union will make it even harder. I'm betting we'll never go to an all ABS system at the plate.

So I was waaaaaaay wrong on Miller. The dude talked like he had Lou Gehrig's disease or something. A bad elbow that needs cortisone shots and is supposed to be back after the IL.

So last year, all winter, all spring training, and now two months into the season? Great training staff there...

really good news all things considered. it's not autoimmune, and I agreed that he was making it sound like it could be something like that.

cortizone really can be a miracle. i had really painful frozen shoulder when I was in my early 20s, and a cortizone shot with a couple weeks of PT fixed me right up. obviously different for elite athletes, but i'm betting he comes back fully recovered and ready to go by early-mid june if there aren't major complications.

it's going to really suck until we get kirby (hopefully) back by the end of the month and gilbert not too long afterwards. we really need them and a healthy Miller back ASAP because those 2 stretches of 17 in a row in June and July are really coming fast.

but yeah, rough as it's been the past week, expect it to ramp up.

No crap, what the crap. I didn’t realize this went back to last year. Can’t believe how careful they were with Woo like he is glass but they treat Miller like a pitcher from the 50’s.

I had frozen shoulder a couple years back. Nobody offered me the shot!!!! I did a little PT then just dealt with it. Still reminds me today from time to time.

Just weird but we are talking Mariners so probably on par.

So true. If they knew this, why didn't they deal him when teams were interested? I don't want a mediocre pitcher with prolonged arm issues.

Cal follows with a line drive to RC but it was caught. Would have been 2 more runs. Nailed it.

Julio performing so solidly the past several weeks. Maybe he'll ramp it up to a successful final 5 months of the season rather than a couple of months of being nuclear hot followed by ice cold when it's all on the line in late sep.

Which inning will Castillo blow up and give up 3+ runs?

It looks like he’s obviously rolling a shut out into the sixth inning, but I’m watching him inning for inning pitch for pitch and I’m just not impressed

He just doesn’t really seem to be an educated pitcher with control. He just rares back and throws and doesn’t locate pitches well. as I’m leaving this message, the Yankees just score a run on a double to right field in the top of the sixth.

How he kept this lineup for New York to no runs through 5 1/2 innings is amazing

His stuff is not that good. He’s got a weak breaking pitch his fastball sails on him. He’s got zero control of a fastball. How can you be a pitcher and not be able to control your fastball with pinpoint location?

He’s barely our number four pitcher

But jiminy Christmas, can we get our regular arms back in rotation so we don’t have to lean on him the way we are.

Keeping the Yanks down to only 2 runs scored over 17 innings was really something. It had to give at some point.
