Maybe Belt's bat is finally coming alive this year.

This game is moving incredibly slowing for a 2-0 score.
Too little too late.

Bum really buckled down...

Edit: Gs going for the k-o..

His bat has really faded these past two years. I've been an ardent Belt defender as recently as last year but it looks like maybe his prime years are behind him. Same with Crawford and Posey. The thing is, Belt's bat is still better than those other two but the org will have a harder time moving on from them than Belt.

Bumgarner now tied with Matt Cain for most wins at Pac Bell Park (I will always call it that)

Bum also leads the NL this year in innings pitched

Yaz's 18 HRs is most by a Giants rookie since....Posey in 2010. And Posey did that with less than 4 months of ABs. Used to have some power...

Craw is reaaaallly looking done though. Posey is still an ok to decent hitter for a catcher (just shouldn't ever bat over 6th in the lineup, no power at all), and has been the defacto face of the franchise (and sorta the face of baseball for a bit), he needs to stay. They can move on from Crawford, just do it classy.

Longo quietly having a nice year at the plate (.796 OPS with 17 HRs in 362 ABs, at Pac Bell half the time)

oops ^^^
And we are still alive for the WC... via life support...
Yeah but, still under .500 and 3-7 last ten :L

OTH, doggies lost, and Ryu looks to be tanking, and Bellinger's ave. has been falling every month, and every appearance by Jansen sends the team's and the fan's stomachs into upchuck mode.

A's beat the Janks.
I gaurantee you that if Nate Patterson is a success in MLB, Disney will be making a movie about him.

He's had a great 2nd half. I do wonder if it would be in FZ's best interest to trade him this offseason or if he's back to his prime years (or close to it).

Why trade him? We don't have anyone better to play 3rd do we? Longo getting hurt is one of the main reasons our surprising run of success fizzled out.

Because I don't trust him to be back in his prime. He could be a sell high player and I am starting to trust FZ's moves. He could well land an under the radar 3rd baseman to replace Longoria.

Well sure, if FZ makes a move I'm on board, he's showing he deserves the trust. I just meant, that's not really a position of need is it? If you plan to compete each year and not do a total teardown (and clearly that's how we plan to do it, Cardinals not Astros/Cubs/White Sox) you need a couple productive veterans in there even as you bring in youth. Crawford seems like he may no longer be productive. Longo seems like he is.

I don't think we can trade him without eating a bunch of his salary. If we can, I'd do it.
