NHL Attendance Staying Strong Through Mid-Season

I always think it's weird when teams show a "gain" when they were at over 100% to begin with.

Hypnotist: You are all very good players
Team: We are all very good players.
Hypnotist: You will beat Shelbyville.
Team: We will beat Shelbyville.
Hypnotist: You will give 110 percent.
Team: That's impossible no one can give more than 100 percent. By definition that's the most any one can give.

It seems odd that both Dallas and Atlanta have suffered decreases in attendance this year despite improving on the ice.

Dallas parted with Modano and Atlanta traded Kovalchuk last year... I bet a lot of the decrease is season ticket renewals. Both teams were expected to perform poorly this year.

Nice to see Ponicks go from a mediocre 56% to a mediocre 59%. That's fantastic.

And the Devils are still down in attendance and standings. Getting rid of Kovy was the best move Atlanta could have made, I wish their fans would see that.

Kudos to the Habs, Blues, Caps, Flames, and Oilers for consistently enforcing the fire code!

Blackhawks - (105.1) - 107.6) = 2.5%

Blackhawks are exceeding capacity even further b/c their cap situation has forced them to suit up 4-6 fans per night to fill 4th line, 3rd D-line, and backup goalie duties.

Look at TB in baseball. Solid team for the past few years, yet the only thing in the crowd is crickets. Horrible, some markets just cant hold certain teams. They're not gonna be shit this year :D :D :D

and despite being the 2 teams that decreased their average ticket prices

The Dallas Stars had the lowest average price at $29.68 (off 2.5 percent), as well as the lowest FCI at $222.68 (off 1.3 percent), TMR said. The Atlanta Thrashers had the biggest decline in average ticket price, down 10.1 percent to $43.59

Obvious guy asks ... "maybe they dont like the ice hockey much?" :L
