Remember, he only played about one half of one game during the pre-season. I'm hopeful it was just dehydration.

I hope it is. When healthy he was the best player on the team.

I don't trust Lewis's use of the word "might." The weather wasn't that bad. A cart seems excessive for a 75-80 degree day. Team's play football in much warmer weather without an issue

chad johnson suffered from it when he was here.

I'm hoping he can play himself back to form this season, but I have my doubts..... He's coming off a tough knee injury and he's definitely not himself right now. I think the conditioning factor is going to be tough to overcome early in the year as well. I think the best case scenario is that he starts rounding into form in the last 1/4 of the season and is ready to cause disruption in the postseason.

It's probably more realistic that we won't see the real Geno until next year.

pulling ligaments hurts like a bitch.
I pulled a small one and I wear a knee brace anytime I play sports.
he should really take another year off.

I think the conditioning will come around in week 3 or 4 when he's actually had some games under his belt.

The rest is mental. We can see the real Geno by mid-season, as long as he mentally trust his knee to hold up. We'll see. He did an alright job yesterday, from the limited action I saw.

you are out of your damned mind.

he's clearly not in the same shape as he was 2 years ago. maybe he'll come back, but for now the Bengals need to move on. he'll be on the IR in a few weeks.

Of course he's not in the same shape. He's not played any real footall in the pre-season, and missed the end/second half of last year.

He needs to get games under his belt to build up his stamina. The rest is going to be mental, as they all say, after having this kind of injury. It takes awhile before the mind trusts the body to do what is needed without over thinking it, or trying to somehow protect it.

Quit bitching, and enjoy the win. Damn. Worry about Atkins being hurt when he actually gets hurt, or worry about a guy who's actually hurt, like Eiffert.

uh, I'm not bitching, and I did enjoy the win.
cheer up buttercup.

playing football games is not going to bring Atkins back. there are plenty of things he can do to get in shape, lift weights, taking a jog, riding the exercise bike, doing drills, etc. it's not that his skills are rusty, he's just not the same and won't be for awhile.

I actually think Eifert will bounce back, was nice to see Gresham not playing like shit though. if they both go down, then we can worry.

you didn't notice that the guard did his job and the ravens actually double teamed the other tackle.

blinders.

I did, actually. That doesn't displace the fact that Geno threw that guard like a rag doll, to the side.

talk about blinders.

No one said he'd be 100% Geno right off the bat. Teams are going to test out Geno 1-1 before they just go back to double-teaming him each snap. Anyone who has followed any other player that has had an ACL injury knows that it's going to take time. He's not in "football" shape yet, and after several games he'll be there. The rest of the physical part of his body being back is mostly mental, as it takes time for the mind to trust the body again.

You're reaching at straws. Just stop.
