Huge relief not to play Seattle tomorrow and have a day off for travel. In getting Lester the A's gave up more than they should have in my opinion but he can prove me wrong if he pitches the A's into the divisional round against K.C.

It won't be easy there the Royals haven't seen playoff baseball since 1985, it will be rocking in there I hope the A's are up to the task today's clincher should put a little wind in their sails.

Let's go Oakland!

Congrats!!

Oakland is my 2nd favorite team....

I just wish MLB went to a best of 3 or 5 series for the wildcard play in..instead of 1 game.

All hands on deck for Tuesday.

Cheers!!

I agree, let them play a double header if the amount of day's are an issue. One game is such high variance for two teams that just played 162 games.

For 1 road game couldn't hope for a more favorable matchup. I don't see the Royals getting to Lester unless he has a mental collapse.

Good luck to the A's and you fans. Big supporter of Bob Melvin who is one of the best managers in the league. The players are fighters. Let's have a World Series Party for the Battle of the Bay. Giants vs. A's !

Thanks to everyone stopping by that isn't an A's fan showing some love.

Lester understand's how important this game is, now it's time for him to back up his words.

Dam that was tough luck... A's looked like they had that game more than once... Gotta tip your hat to KC for battling back... But man tough breaks there....

I personally love the one game playoff. Being able to avoid a do or die wild card game is now a huge benefit to winning your division, where 5 years ago all you got was a better seed. Plus it brings an excitement that you won't see in a lot of division series, unless they go to 5 games.

Yeah it works pretty well... Definitely rewards division winners big time

That would make it too long of a wait between the end of the regular season and the divisional series, IMO. Plus, it could defeat one of the apparent goals that they had when they instituted the wild card game, which was to cause the wild card winner to use their best pitcher in the wild card game, and thus give an advantage to the division winner with the best record, as they don't have to face the wild card team's best pitcher until about Game 3 of the divisional series.
