ASU vs. UofA - YouTube
We didn't even rush the court!
Stupid Ty Abbott if you played like you did your freshmen year we would of won the conference stupid bitch!
Let me just say what every UofA fan is thinking... we simply cannot lose this game tonight.
If for some reason Arizona plays flat and asu makes 75% of it's threes, cuts down turnovers and plays out of their minds and picks up a W?.... well.... we as Cats fans simply would never live that down.
We would be 80 years old, sitting in a rocker on the porch and get a 1,000,000th text from Fork saying "Remember that time that we beat you in McKale when you were #1 and undefeated... that was awesome"

We need to do exactly what we did in 2012 play out of our fucking minds. Make all our FTs, Jahii needs to penetrate and create along with scoring, Gilling and Marshall have to be lights out from 3, Bach needs to have an all around good game, Shaq has gotta get out in transition for easy buckets!

You need more than that. In addition to everything you just wrote, you also need AZ to completely self-destruct. Because when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter what ASU does, AZ is the only team that can beat AZ in this game.

...see, that is the perfect example of the difference between us. We root for the teams no matter how good they are. We don't just show up because it's cool to root for a frontrunner.
If asu was undefeated and #1 in hoops there would be a million people in Phoenix sporting brand new gear. But since they are mediocre? You "didn't even know there was a game".
You're telling me you'd have the same support as you do now without the history and the success you've had?
Call me "fair-weathered" call me a "front-runner" but here's the thing, I refuse to support mediocrity. I believe in consumer driven economics where a series of positive incentives leads to success (i.e. I'll support the team when they offer me utility). This program doesn't deserve my money, they hardly deserve my attention. In the past the program has feel short of providing an exciting brand for it's consumers to enjoy.
I have no doubt that ASU will be good at basketball in the near future. The school will see the potential there is to make money and influence the fan base to spend their hard earned money on the team. There are just too many things to offer. But until then, the majority of us just don't care. So build up this game and enjoy the athletic focus of your school.
Let's not get carried away here...
Reasons why asu has a bright future in basketball
Reason #1: Herb will be fired
Reason #2: asu basketball is a sleeping giant
Reason #3: USA basketball moved to Phoenix which means that (in the minds of asu fans) Lebron and some other good-basketball-playing-types are going to be able to suit up.
