I'm a half-season ticket holder and I couldn't get tickets for Friday (they offered Saturday tickets to half-season ticket holders), and the ones to the public "sold" (they were free) out in about thirty seconds.

And now people are trying to get a hundred bucks per ticket on Craigslist. You know when I sell some of my tickets, I generally sell them for gate price, so enough that I can make twenty bucks towards my tickets, but I'm not ripping people off. I guess I'm just shitty at capitalism.

I wish that states would improve and increase enforcement of ticket scalping. These people add ZERO value to society, drive up the costs for all of us that want to go see events, and take money away from the teams, bands, etc. that actually invest tons of money in putting together a product or show people want to see. It's a damn shame.

Places like Ace Tickets and Stub Hub are legal scalpers. Why are they allowed to do this? Because taxes are paid on the sale (after getting taxed on the initial sale). The seats I paid $175 Ace Tickets for, my birthday Mon. 3/19, were $110 face value. The same seats for the Nucks game on Sat. 1/7 were around $400!!!! More than triple the face value!!!! Not only have I never made money selling a ticket, I usually give them to a friend for free.

Depends on the place and state. In some states, you just can't resell tickets on the property of the venue. In others, resale is restricted or limited by certain conditions or you can sell them outside the state boundary (and on the Internet), but not within the state. The reality is the laws in the area are fuzzy, and even when they are clear, there really isn't any enforcement.

Scalping is legal in Texas as long as its not done on premise.

I had 2 tickets to the Big 12 championship game in Houston. paid 78 each for them...after Nebraska lost out..i sold them on ebay for 140 each. I saw those same tickets go on ebay 2 days later for 225 each :L

Loki where is the Penguins draft party being held?

I know the Islanders give away all their tickets to the draft party which is held at the Coliseum every year.

This year fans plan on chanting lude & crude things towards Wang & Snow. Wearing T-shirts that say horrible things about Wang. So basically it's the same as the past two years.:D:

Have fun at the draft.

I got 2 for the first round on Friday from my season ticket plan.

I may have 2 extra for Round 2 (sat) if anyone needs them.

Hey sbb, do me a favour, if you're going to the draft with your son, please boo Lowebellini when they make their way up to the podium.

Thanks in advance.

You have to see both sides. Without them, sales of FORTY's would be way down.

They are job creators, really.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I think this is probably appropriate...

Seriously, what the fuck? I figured I would maybe have to pay thirty bucks a ticket. I'm still thinking no one will pay a hundred. Granted there were only like six sets of tickets on Craiglist when I went there yesterday (those were the cheapest), but I couldn't believe that shit.

I think I'm just irritated because I try to be a "good" person when it comes to scalping. Yeah, I'll make twenty bucks, but I don't rip anyone off. And I try to hook people up when I can. I don't buy tickets to scalp.

I guess I should be grateful and just shut my whore mouth since my game tickets aren't outrageous or anything. Normally, I would pay whatever, but I was just asked to be maid of honor in a wedding and I'm taking my dad to a nice dinner for father's day, so I'm trying to not piss away my money as per usual.
