Details are sketchy but I just heard comments following Ryno's press conference. Asche optioned to AAA and will play left field. He'll come back up when he's ready. This makes temporary room for O'Sullivan on the roster (lol). I assume a move up for Franco is near.

This franchise is in complete disarray. Sending Asche down does little to improve him but it'll do a lot to ruin him. The Phillies are rapidly becoming the club where players go to have their careers destroyed.

Well retro, they're obviously making room for Franco to take over 3rd base. Asche has never played OF so it seems like a necessity for the time being. Revere, Herrera, and Asche in the OF. Howard, Utley, Galvis, Franco for the infield . Toss in outfielders Ruf, Size, Frenchy, and Brown and you still have 1/2 dozen or so unproductive players of all ages. This is a mess.

Ideally, Sizemore and Francoeur will have to go. We know that but when? Ruf should have played tonite against the right hander. His 3-year stats show he hits LHP as well as RHP for average with 12 HR vs RHP vs 8 HR vs LHP. We may never get to know how good he could be. In possible scenarios, could Revere be odd man out? I hope not.

They should move Asche to second and sit Utley but just like Howard, braindead and braindead-mini-me can't admit they are both in over their heads and do nothing but screw-the-pooch. Seriously, playing Asche in the outfield when he has never played there? What do they hope to gain by sending Asche down to season for the outfield when they have Revere and Ruf to cover the corner outfields?

The Moves that this team makes can never be trusted. Amaro sends Asche to the minors so he can learn to play left field. Goodbye Ashe. The good news is that Franco gets called up this Friday. He will be the 3rd baseman
no matter what. The Philies do not need Brown or Asche in the outfield. There are other options.
One thing the Phillies really need is a lefty reliever that can get somebody out! The next call should be to Amaros Mom: Please pick him up!

Like I stated elsewhere, nothing will change for the better for this franchise until the owner awakens from his drug-induced stupor and cleans house.

We all hate watching these crappy games. On the positive side we may get a good look at Franco sometime this weekend. If he's up to it right away, we'll score some runs and get somewhat excited about the season, at least a little. But apparently we'll have to still put up with Francoeur and Sizemore lineups, like tonite. No one wants to see Francoeur in there. wtf. Where's Ruf? Maybe Amaro shares a condo with those two.:pound:

This is ridiiculous. Put him in LF in the majors. What could go wrong? Would we miss Revere's power in the lineup? It's not like Revelate is s good fielder.

Typical Phil's. Constantly jerking around these young guys and wondering why they don't develop. In mid-June they will start screwing with the young stud pitchers in Reading.
