... is this one of the biggest ones? medium-big? or not even close?

Assuming they go on and miss the playoffs, which is a pretty solid bet right now (they need about 14 points in 9 games so that's like... 7-2? ROFL... HAHAHAHA.. wait... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!! OK.. done now).

medium big. However, they were completely gutted by their GM, so it's not just a team collapse, but an organizational one.

I'll go with medium. Sharks were one top 6 injury away from being grouped with the rest of the league. They were one goalie slump away from being mediocre. Done and done.

This season will go down as one of the worst in Sharks history. I would put this as #3 behind the 09 president winning team & the 92 season.

Doug fucked up this team, and all of his moves have been busts.

Don't forget about the 2002-2003 season, when the Sharks last missed the PO's. They had high expectations but won only 28 games, with Sutter being fired and Nolan being traded to Toronto.

I agree 100%. This year had incredible potential. The D was among the best cores they've had. The top 6 were solid. Ginner was emerging into a legit NHL scoring threat. All they needed at the deadline was one or two legit 3rd line threats and this team would be off to the races. Kostitsyn or vermette instead of Moore for virtually the same 2nd rounder price tag and the sharks would be 3rd in the conference comfortably in home field advantage. hell even maybe Wolski for a 3rd would have done it too.

Instead, dougie brings in moore, winnik and galiardi who averaged about 6 goals each on the season and were all significantly minus players, and not just minus, but among the worst on their teams minus (moore is the 3rd worst forward on tampa, winnik was THE worst forward on colorado with galiardi 5th worst). In other words, they werent minus only because their teams sucked by were actually amongst the worst even compared to the rest of the guys on their own teams.
