Until they get eliminated in the ALDS like they always do?
Definitely looks like a good trade for the A's to make a run, but I'm not prepared to crown them just yet.

Sure Oakland got two quality pitchers, but it took them 12 innings to score ONE run yesterday. Still need to score runs to win.
What the fuck is Cashman doing?

Yes, the A's are having trouble scoring runs. As evident by the fact that they lead all of MLB in runs scored and runs per game. And they're tied for the 3rd highest team OPS+. What a shitty offense.
Oh wait. You just like to draw conclusions from one out of 80+ games. Totally makes sense.
Maybe the A's can stop the A's. Trade to replace 2 starters in the rotation of the best team in baseball? What made them the best team?
They are thinking playoff rotation here. They had to have another righty to be considered a serious WS threat. As good as Chavez has been, most of us A's fans knew, he isn't the answer for the 2nd righty in a playoff rotation.
That, and this is Chavez' only year with 100 innings. He hasn't really shown signs of fatigue... yet. He had a rough May (batters had a .354 wOBA against him, which is pretty high; his ERA was 3.90), but it was only .294 last month (he had a 3.30 ERA).
Chavez has more upside than Milone, but Milone is a safer bet.
How will Cub fans spell Samardzija in two years? I think it will be M A D D U X.
A's, Angels and Mariners are rolling right now. All of them are 7-3 in their last 10 games. But they're also 14-6 in their last 20. A's and Mariners are 19-11 in their last 30. Angels are 20-10. They're also 1-2-3 in the majors in run differential. Feels like 2002 all over again in the AL West.
