How do you post on the Niner board and not have a Steve Wallace concussion helmet picture?
On a related note, this is such bullshit that players from the 80s are suing the NFL for CTE. You can't retroactively sue for something that was harmful when no one knew it was harmful?
If 40 years from now we find out the stuff in car airbags causes cancer, can we all sue GM, Ford, Chrysler etc?
People have known that being pummelled in the head is bad for your health for Millenia. Just because there's a new name for it doesn't mean it's some great great finding.
Concussions are bad for you. Wow! I would've never guessed!
Also, what would could the NFL have done about it? It's not like they can prevent head injuries when people are playing football.
So... remember this?
Why aren't all players wearing these?
Was gonna say the same exact thing.
Rep for being quicker.
This guy had concussion problems?

Man people these days are getting really good at this:
WAAAAAAA!!! Gimme some money!
Yes you can. Asbestos comes to mind. Also cars that had defects resulting in accidents that caused deaths and trama. (Firestone tires) No one knew about the issues before hand, but they sued and won because the companies "Should have known and tested for ..."
The lawyers will state that a football helmet company should have known and tested about concussions and problems with them because that is what the helmet is supposed to stop. And the Lawyers will state that football is a collision sport. Why did the NFL not use the best equipment and try to protect the players more to stop injuries that should have been prevent with better gear.
I fall more in line with the NFL in thinking you knew what you were getting into, but there are ways to sue.
This is not the same as people suing Ford because their Explorer would roll over and explode. There was a way to test for that at the time.
Suing today because modern technology has allowed us to learn about things from years ago is ridiculous. The technology didn't exist 30 years ago.
My grandfather died of cancer 10 years ago. Can I sue if there is a cure in 20 years?
Wrong situation.
The helmet company is more like a car company who didn't test the seat belts and when the seat belts are actually used do very little to prevent injury. The reason they use the seat belts instead of others that actually work is due to negligence is a reason to sue.
Helmet companies have had better technology for years and don't use it. The NFL doesn't use it as well. Why not? Is it the cost? So they not care about the players? I got head injuries was it because the preventable by the use of better Helmets that were being held back? These are what the law suits are about.
