Back up the coast, keeping a wary eye on Mount Agung to Tulabem. During WWII, the USAT Liberty was torpedoed by the Japanese & the ship towed there & beached for salvage. Forgotten about, an eruption of Mount Agung (see, you cannot trust that volcano), shifted it off the beach into the water where it came to rest canted to it's side.
What makes it fun is it's a quick swim from the beach & is shallow enough, snorkelers can see it, something we rarely get to do on wrecks. Now it has become a haven for coral & tons of fish.
Pictures aren't the clearest but you can get an idea of the wreck. Divers & snorkelers were combing the wreck that day. Later, we wandered over to do a little snorkeling in the bay area but the waves were kicking up, churning up the bottom so not anything great from that. But it was my first "wreck" dive since the downed Japanese zero I saw in Papua New Guinea.
That concluded my water adventures for a while. Heading eastward again.
