Damn, that's such a great point, when you compare it to other sports. I really hate when refs dictate games. I still love basketball (well, college bball), but I never thought of that in relation to other sports.

Don't know about the final block, but there was several offensive foul calls on Qualls where he touched no one. Go pick up your checks refs.

Not as bad as our football game there back in '09 but it seems like college basketball refs in general get worse every year

This is a bogus statement. No team ever loses a game to one single call. There are too many plays left out on the court where team A could have executed better and won the game (or team B). How many missed FT's, how many botched Layups, or bad shot selections. How many times did the defender blow by a guy for an easy layup, etc...etc...

For any one single call to cause a team to lose a game would mean that both teams would have had to play the perfect game up until that point.

Basketball is always going to have the most interactions regarding refs because the pace is faster than any other sport (Unless you play in the Big10, but I digress...lol) and the contact that is initiated at times isn't allowed. I think the biggest issue, and this goes with all refs, isn't the calls but the consistency of the calls made.

If you are going to call X a foul early, then call it middle, and call it late. Don't let X occur all game long, and then at the end of the game call it a foul, or visa-versa. Just be consistent. It is then up to the teams to adjust how the refs are calling the game.
