I like your beard.
I'll be there with a friend (she's not a hockey person...I'm in the process of educating) up in 223 I believe. Prettty pumped, but the snow has GOT to stay away, got a 3 hour drive ahead of me.
Can't make it this year but I went last year. The crowd was at least half Pens fans. Was a fun game... Pens scored a couple late to win it.
In reading around (mostly the Pensblog) it looks like it's gonna be quite a party this year. I just really hope the snow doesn't put a damper on my plans...trying to find a place to eat. Heard R-Bar is the 'meeting place' but we're not legal yet and honestly I want dinner, not a bunch of drunks...so we'll see where we end up!
Don't mind me, I have a lot of alcohol in my system... that was retarded .
Chimay is good... As is Stone, but Yeti is disgusting, and I love stout. Actually now that I think about it, I think it was espresso stout by Yetu, that was disgusting, maybe their reg stout isnt bad... I have no clue what I drink.
Look up Forty_three.
He lives there I believe and is a Blue Jackets fan. See if you can fight him for me.
Not completely converted... yet. I will be wearing Sens gear when they come to town. But then again, the Sens aren't exactly giving me a reason to pay attention to them.
Pix, the snow is supposed to hit pretty bad between Indy and Dayton. All along 70. Good luck and be careful. In Columbus metro we're only supposed to get an inch or 2.
As for places to eat, please, for your sake - avoid Buca di Barfo.
It depends on how far away from the arena you want to venture and what you're looking for. The Frog Bear has decent food, but again is a bar, so... There's Gordon Biersch which has good food, but is a little pricey. If you don't mind a few block walk, there's the North Market and a few other decent restaurants around. The Market has pretty much anything you'd be interested in, a few Delis and such, really good international cuisine, etc. "If you can't find something to eat at the Market, you ain't hungry" is what they told me.
On the other side of the Arena is a Boston's pizza and a place you can get Breakfast all day and they have pretty good sandwiches there too. A good steak joint there too, Ted's.
Max and Erma's is chain place near the Crowne Plaza, that's not too bad. BUT if you get a waitress that appears to have been a waiter in the past, ask to switch tables. He/she's as dumb as a box of hammers. There's a good Pub a few doors down from there, can't remember the name. Awesome fish and chips.
Have a good time. I'm not going - other commitments so I swapped tix with a friend (Don't tell the locals - They're Pens fans). They were down behind the refs by the Jackets goal. You'll see what I mean. Those guys are hilarious.
Have fun at the game. Most locals are pretty good natured towards enemy fans. Unless you try and throw an Octopus on the ice. They beat that guy down.
