I've been looking for a new Windows box, preferably something with the OS installed on a SSD.
I was looking at this:
Intel NUC7i5BNH Mini PC, Intel Core i5-7260U 2.2GHz, 8GB DDR4, 128GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD, Wifi, BT 4.2, HDMI, Thunderbolt 3, 4k Support, Dual Monitor Capable, Windows 10 Pro - Newegg.com
I noticed it included something called Thunderbolt 3 on the mini-USB port on the back.
Doing a little investigating, I learned that TB3 supports transfer rates up to 40Gb/s.
I'm curious if this is something anyone has actually used. I looked around for something that might actually be used with this. Here is a portable drive:
Samsung Portable SSD T5 | Samsung External Storage
has a transfer rate of something like 2Gb/s. Newegg was selling it for about $270. read a review where someone was using it as a boot device for some sort of Mac.
Has anyone here used Thunderbolt 3?
