I like the building aspect of the game, can make some pretty wild stuff...

I still do on occasion, have since it was in Alpha. Pretty amazing to see how popular it has gotten.

I can't build anything interesting, so when I played, I basically just liked clearing caves and mineshafts.

Watching YouTube videos about what some people build is fun. There are some REALLY talented people out there.

There are some pretty amazing things out there on youtube. I have made some aesthetically pleasing things myself, but alas those servers are long gone.

I've built some pretty cool stuff, but I'm always running between 5 different projects in my world so not much really gets finished.
Everyone that comes to my world seems pretty amazed though, especially since its a Survival world. It's not quite one of those awe inspiring youtube type places though, so I don't want to get your hopes up too high lol
If anyone is on XB1 and wants to come in and check it out let me know, I can give you my gamertag...

I am honestly in the dark as to what goes on XB1 these days, I've always been on the PC since Notch and co were still heavily involved with developing the game.

Supposedly the XB1 version of the game is VERY close to the PC version if you want to play with full crafting and everything. Since MS owns it, they're trying to bring all of the versions to the same level, or so I've heard...

I dont think I have played since the early 1.8 days, and then only for a little bit to see the new rocks.

I have been hesitant to even install 1.9 because I am not a huge fan of what I have seen of the changes. Sometimes, added features just remove from the overall experience.

There should still be ways to go back be it a mod or otherwise (even to earlier updates) if you so choose for single player.

There are. If you use a mod launcher, you can actually select the release you want to play.

I just like playing the most recent builds, and if the most recent build goes in a direction I dont like, I lose interest.

Not saying it makes sense. Just saying that is the way it is.

Yep, they seemed to have gotten somewhat serious about trying to make the combat more fun in MC. Might have to go on a random multiplayer server for the first time in a year or two.

They also have...

Weird plants that grow in the End.
A new mob that basically jumps around in a box.
Magic arrows that can be crafted.
a couple new magic abilities for items (items repairs itself; walk fast in water, etc)

* Attacking now has a “cool-down” delay, making it more important to time your attacks
* You can now hold items in both hands (default quick key to swap items is ‘F’)
* Swords have a special sweep attack
* Axes have a special crushing blow attack
* Added the elytra
* New mob: Shulker
* Expanded The End
* Added Chorus plants
* New Purpur blocks
* New End Rod block
* Added dragon head block
* Ender Dragon can be resummoned
* Added beetroot and beetroot soup (from MC:PE)
* Added grass path block
* Added igloos
* Armor protection values have been lowered
* Added tipped arrows
* Added spectral arrows
* Added Frost Walker enchantment and frosted ice block
* Added a whole bunch of new sound effects
* Added sound effect subtitles
* Brewing Stand now requires Blaze Powder to activate
* Added skeleton riders
* We believe we’ve fixed MC-10 and a whole bunch of other issues
