Connor Cook should go undrafted. Worse than Tebow.

You said "If he could stay on the field, he would be considered elite."

No, dude, I don't agree at all. And if you are trying to squeeze out of this statement, why don't you just say you got carried away, instead of acting like you never said it.

I'm not pretending anything. I think he WOULD be considered elite if he could stay on the field, and I stand by my statement that he is arguably the best go-up-and-get-it WR in the league. Does that make him the best or even elite? No. But the potential is certainly there, and if you don't think he will fetch elite money this offseason, I don't know what to tell you....I got a bridge I'll sell ya?:noidea:

I agree that if AJ hits the open market, he will make bank and then some. He's really the only receiver of quality out there. And he's a damn good receiver, he's worth a nice contract. He'd get overpaid, but it isn't like he's useless. That being said, pretty sure the Bears won't let him see the open market in a year where he'd be the only top flight guy on the table for the league. They can tag him and see how things look next year.

I would have to actually see that to believe it. Never seen a worse passer in the NFL in my life than Tebow.

I'm all for the tag, it just scares me because players hate it. Then, a lot of times hold out.

I never said elite. I never he was a top 5 or 10 or any of the shit you two are fucking whining about. But he is very much in the argument regarding what I did refer to him as....the best "go-up-and-get-it" receiver in the NFL.

It's my opinion, but I've heard a few pundits mention it as well.

But then again, my football IQ is vaaaastly inferior to you two wizards.:rolleyes2:

Oh, fuck off.

Either debate the subject or don't. Don't give me this "defeated girlfriend" act. "Well, I guess we all can't possibly know as much as you, your highness!". What a girl move.

And no, you're insane. Alshon repeatedly got beaten by DB's on jump balls in the red zone this past year, one-on-one. DeAndre Hopkins, Julio, Calvin Johnson... these guys rarely get denied. Alshon is not nearly as physical as them when going up and getting a ball.

So, you know what? You're right. Your football IQ is dog shit. Eat my shorts.

The question lies with are you going to bank on Fales as your QB in training or get another late QB to push him out. By this time, it should be Fales as the backup if they are thinking of drafting a third to string along on the practice squad. I just believe there was enough conversation that the bears expected Baltimore or Dallas to take Fales from the practice squad so they promoted him and cut Claussen.

So far we only see Fales playing well against third and fourth stringers in preseason games who dont even make the team. We have not learned anything. Seems like a vicious circle if you just do it again without any plan of challenging the starter.

Yeah, I'm somewhat despondent on our chance of drafting a good QB this year, but you never know. But since there are like 4 super QB hungry teams ahead of us, it's hard to imagine the BPA by the Bears' turn will be a QB. I love BPA, not saying we should do otherwise. But unless this is 1983's draft class, we aren't drafting a highly-likely QB this year.

Live by the BPA, die by the BPA.

Unless it's a "gimme", I'd rather not waste the pick this year on a QB. Too many other holes to fill.

Fales is not the answer........ I have not seen the list of qbs coming out this, nor will I be interested in it either till after the SB, but if there is one to fall to us in the 1st or 2nd,we need to go for it..

2016 NFL Mock Draft - WalterFootball.com

there is a mock I like, 2 QB's in the top ten, expect the Titans to get Mariota a LT, like the ideas of getting our QB a tackle too (this one and the future). Neither are names many will recognize this time around.

Kyle Fullers brother marked at 31.

Well I finally got to the site you put up and the intriguing qb I liked is Paxton Lynch.....
Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
Height: 6-7. Weight: 245.
Projected 40 Time: 4.78.
Projected Round (2016): 1-2.

1/9/16: In 2015, Lynch completed 67 percent of his passes for 3,778 yards with 28 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Lynch has a great skill set, but is raw and needs development. His footwork and field vision are the primary areas to improve. Lynch has an arm that can make all the throws for the pro game, and he flashed the ability to pass accurately and beat good coverage with precise completions into tight windows. However, Lynch was inconsistent with passing accurately and working through his progressions. He needs to become more consistent with the ability to thrive as a pocket passer.

Lynch also has the athleticism to make plays with his feet and or throws on the run. His draft stock rose dramatically with Memphis' strong start to the 2015 season, which included an upset over Ole Miss.

In his previous seasons as a starter, Lynch used his running ability more. As a sophomore, he ran for 321 yards with 13 touchdowns while completing 63 percent of his passes for 3,031 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Lynch completed 58 percent of his passes for 2,056 yards with nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions as a freshman.

Really like his size at 6'7 245 and what's bolded.Thats a big qb. But he will probably be gone by the time we pick anyways....We'll see........
And Derrick Henry may be intriguingg as well if Forte does not come back.

Derrick Henry*, RB, Alabama
Height: 6-3. Weight: 241.
Projected 40 Time: 4.59.
Projected Round (2016): 1-3.

1/9/16: In 2015, Henry has averaged 5.7 yards per carry (359 carries) in 2015 for 2,061 yards with 25 touchdowns with 11 receptions for 91 yards. Henry has been a downhill bulldozer who has an underrated burst to get to the second level and break off long runs. He isn't an elusive back, and is a one-cut downhill runner, but he has shown surprising speed to run away from defensive backs when he breaks off long runs.

Not only has Henry's running been impressive this season, but the blitz protection will really excite scouts. His contributions in the passing game will help Henry's draft grade and give NFL teams the evidence that he can be a three-down starter as a pro.

In speaking with sources, some teams see him as a late first-rounder. Others grade him in the second or third round.

8/8/15: Henry averaged 5.8 yards per carry in 2014 for 990 yards with 11 touchdowns. He added five receptions for 133 yards, too. The 6-foot-3, 241-pounder could be in store for a huge season in 2015 with T.J. Yeldon and Amari Cooper in the NFL and Alabama starting a new quarterback. That has been the trend for the Crimson Tide in years past with players like Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Eddie Lacy and Yeldon taking over as the lead back after an older player moves on to the NFL.

Henry finished the 2013 season in impressive fashion, while T.J. Yeldon wasn't as dominant as many thought he would be. Henry showed what he is capable of when he racked up 382 yards on only 36 carries with three touchdowns in 2013. In the Sugar Bowl, Henry had 100 yards and a score on only eight carries.

Wood, did you notice the size of all the quarterbacks on that list, I swear they averaged 6'5 240. Made me wonder if that Walters dude has a thing for the plus size.

It just seems to be a year of the QB you gotta google. There really is no big name that jumps out. Lynch is definitely interesting for his size and his 28:3 ratio.

That running back is huge too, but it kinda makes me think that maybe getting a real fullback in here for this running game might be an option instead of trying to convert yet another tight end. Dont remember which playoff game I was glancing at over the weekend, but one team actually had 2 real fullbacks. Payton had Suhey all those years.
