i've never gotten the card game entirely, with all do respect..

mainly because obviously there are shitty cards, and great cards (companies and brands i mean)

how do you decipher this? does it really matter?

I started collecting in the mid 70s (OPC only). Stopped about 10 years later, so my collecting spanned the Gretzky rookie and Lemeiux rookie card era. I recently inherited Comeds' collection, so now i have a metric ass-load of cards.

i inherited stuff from a cousin in the mid 70's (his doubles and triples but alot of them),

80's is the bulk of my collection. Ive got a handful of Lemieux rookies ... i think only one would be considered mint because they were all off center. I would empty my dads jacket pockets of his change and return all our emptys to buy cards. I also bullied some younger kids into giving me theirs. I once chased one kid into a backyard that had a big dog and he ended up getting bitten ... still feel bad about that one :(

stopped collecting when they were overproduced in early 90's ... for some reason I bought a set in 97-98 and then another set of Upper Deck Black Diamonds in 2008-2009

I used to collect baseball cards when I was a kid. One day my mom threw them away because she thought I had lost interest, which I kinda did but wish she didn't chuck them. I had Nolan Ryan, Johnnie Bench, Reggie Jackson just to name a few rookie cards

I am the youngest of three, my oldest brother collected cards during the early-mid 70s... I started collecting around 85 (and stopped around 92 or so)... so there is a span of a few yrs (82-85) with no collecting... my older bro my didn;t want his cards, so I took them... my brother collected baseball, football, and hockey cards (some date back into the 50s and 60s he got from my uncles)... in total, I probably have around 30,000 cards or so... I haven't looked at them since... well, 1992 when I stopped collecting.

My neighbor was a SERIOUS collector. When I was a 10 or 11 he was in his 40s... he had boxes and I mean big boxes (stove size boxes) and many of them, of UNOPENED boxes of cards dating back to the 50s all the way to then current (around 87). In all sports. I guess when he was a kid he decided not to open any of the boxes/packs and he kept buying and buying and buying and not opening.

You should look into getting some of those cards priced boss.you'd be surprised what some of them older cards are worth.there's usually a big market for them older cards.and if it makes anyone feel better my mother was nice enough to throw out 8 jerry rice rookies that my neighbor gave me when I was younger.

My wifes step dad owned a card and collectables shop. He gives me any cards I want. pretty much all the hockey ones. My wedding gift from him was a 1967-68 us olympic team signed mini Northland hockey stick. Lou Nanne and Herb Brooks are two of the sigs on it.

I'll see if I have some good Devils shit laying around. You can have it if I do.
