I'm looking for a pic, but a buddy of mine said he was sporting the "A" for the Stadium Series Press Event today. I don't hate it, at least not nearly as much as Salvador getting the captaincy. We'll see if it stays that way during the season or if this was strictly for publicity purposes.

If true hopefully that sparks Zajac or others to elevate their games. Make them earn that letter.

It might have come down to availability. Elias spends his summers in Europe. Kovy gone. Clarkson gone. Henrique not resigned. Who knows. Besides even if you don't like those two, one is our Captain and the other is prob our best defenseman.

I really think Larsson steps up this year and becomes a lock in the top 4, and either through injury or trade to one of our regulars I see one of the young guys getting time with the big club.

Deboer said the vacant "A" will be filled during training camp, so Andy Greene wearing it may have just been for the photo op.

Also, nowhere else to put it, didn't want to start a new thread, Pete Deboer is the first coach since Lemaire's first run with the team to start behind the bench 3 consecutive years. I know we've commented on that before but that's insane.

one guy that always sticks out from the past coaching staff. robbie fatorek i know when he got fired the devils were slumping but they were still top in the conference. think the devils win the cup with him at the helm or robinson put them over?

In that instance I believe the shake up was neccessary. Especially when you consider after we went down 3-1 to Philly in the ECF Robinson, who is usually mild mannered and quiet blew up in the locker room and the team responded. No idea if things fall into place the same way with Ftorek in charge.
