Watch "Andrew Billings || Defensive Monster || Baylor Highlights" on YouTube

I have seen him mocked to us a lot. A workout warrior and strongman like Scherff. A little short for my liking. I am worried he might get swallowed up at the pro level. Does seem real strong at the point of attack.

Interesting. I actually saw a couple of things I didn't like and the important part isn't what people call a highlight. I saw him get pushed back a few times...he ended up making the play but it was beyond the LOS. That is what Lbs are for. We needs a NT to hold the POA and keep the LBs clean.

I was most impressed when he ran the RB down from behind down the sideline...that to me is a highlight.

Yeah, my eyes popped when he ran that RB down, but not sure I like this pick at 21, maybe 53.

all d/lineman can get pushed back. what i like is he is strong at the POA , and he is in the backfield often . and if he has sherf's attitude it would be a huge win . the hieght isnt an issue for me . he wont knock down many balls , so what he should have a leverage advantage

I don't know why the height thing is an issue for me. I guess the guys from Alabama look so imposing. But then again there are always guys that come along that look like Tarzan and play like Jane.

The height thing means nothing to me. Like I said before, I believe Vince Wilfork is as good as any NT I have seen, and he is only 6'2". Casey Hampton is up there too and he was only 6'1".

Dad, I wasn't really bad mouthing the push back because it was a highlight film but it showed him pushed back a few times and making the play...that just isn't a highlight to me...that is what I was pointing out. A NT doing his actual job won't fill up a 5 minute highlight reel.

I have some concerns with his pass rushing ability. If he can't consistently get in the gap or be successful with the pass rush, I would not pick him at #21. Pot Roast only played about 35-40% of the defensive plays last year because so many times the defense called to play both the run and pass. I would rather have a beast ILB or a DT who can play more downs than just run a stuffing DT/NG.

He has really good active feet. There are plenty of times he blew through a gap but I was impressed with how he kept his feet active and moved down the line or into the backfield after he read the play. I also liked that he chased a guy down at 20 yards with the No. 6. Keep in mind he plays in one of the worst defensive conferences in college football.

Reed Billings Butler Rankins and Jones all are disruptive players and I like all of them including Ragland also. If we do not address the DL or ILB in the first RD there are certainly more viable option in the 2nd rd like Jones and Nkemdiche especially if we trade and pick up more picks.

This was my first choice at 21 when we started all this talk. I still can't believe he ran that back down. I still like the Alabama DLs, you really can't go wrong shopping at the Alabama store, but I'd be fine with Billings if it's not Joseph.
