EXACTLY better not ask for big dollars now....My only concerns is what if another teams still comes in with a better contract offer even though he was arrested?? You know his reasoning is going to be that he forgot.... man ID 10 T move big time!

At what point, when packing for a flight, does it occur to you that you need to put your pistol in the suitcase????????

I wouldn't think that is a big enough offense to drop his stock too much. Isn't a domestic abuse, DUI, or anything like that. He can reason it away as a brain fart.

Definitely a big enough brain fart to clear any room.

Probably about par for a guy his size

Yessir. I do agree, though, it shouldn't have any effect on his value on the open market. Someone is going to pay him, and I still hope it's the Bengals.

Seems like it would have been much cheaper to buy a new stash down there than lose two games worth of pay and get a ding on your record.

As far as I know, unless the laws have changed since the last time I flew, it is not illegal to pack a gun. All you have to do is inform the airline you are doing so. As long as it is in your checked luggage and not loaded and you declare it, you are ok. So his crime was forgetting to declare the weapon. If the gun is legal, he shouldn't get much out of this.

Yeah, I'm seeing this as more of an honest mistake than a serious crime. Smith's had obvious work-ethic issues, but off the field he's been clean as far I know. most likely a non-issue that's never discussed in a couple months.
