Thanks, Nebraska and Purdue!

I will think forever about what could have been if the Badgers punt team knew how to pick up their blocks out of that stupid formation.

In college/pros, as long as the starters weren't in and running alley-oops all the time, I see nothing wrong with the 2nd/3rd teams playing their hardest. How many times do they really get a chance to play? So if two college teams are playing and one's 2nd/3rd team is still whooping up on the opponents 1st team, it isn't their fault. Now should they be throwing up 3s/etc? No. They should run their offense and work on other skills, but they shouldn't just stop playing.

Now when it comes to pre-college teams such as high/middle/recreation leagues, then there needs to be discretion amongst coaches. As a high school baseball coach myself, we've been in situations where we're taken a very commanding lead in the first couple innings. While this level of baseball has a slaughter/mercy rule of 10 runs after half the game has been played, when you're up 20 or so to nothing after the first inning or two, you as a coach need to understand that while you may have the competitive instincts in yourself, you also have a responsibility to teach sportsmanship.

Last year, my team was up 22-0 during the first inning against one of our biggest rivals. My players wanted to stay in and keep swinging away for the fence, but I started substituting. I only carried 14 players last year, so I told the starters I left in the game to work on their bunting and no one was to take extra bases even on passed balls (which was often). Many of my players complained and I had a 'come to Jesus meeting' with them right then and there. At this level, you're not trying to embarrass your opponent and get the greatest stat line of all time. You need to learn sportsmanship and become a man. I have known coaches that continue running up the score at this level and I liken it to the idea of a grown man playing pick-up basketball with a 10 year old and taunting them relentlessly.

I don't advocate to stop playing the game (we ended up winning 28-0), but you have to realize there is more to being a coach than just winning.

You guys know we can't have OSU and their multiple NCAA infractions or Penn State and their r*pe cover up representing the division.

I'm so tired of hearing that bullshit. If you don't want to get beat by 50 or 200, don't play like shit. You have nobody to blame but yourself.

Konz. Toon. Abby. And now Taylor. Hopefully there's nothing serious going on with any of those injuries.

The Badgers are the one team in the B1G that is pretty scary to me. Wilson is a stud and even though I think Oregon would score on Wiscy's defense I think the huge O-Line for Wisconsin would be tough. Although Stanford had a pretty damn good O-Line too.

Well Toon went back in the game. Abbrederis sounds like a pulled pectoral or shoulder, which needs to be wrapped but shouldn't keep him out (not like a leg injury). Taylor walked off the field. Konz looked worse.
