Directly behind Berry by the slimmest of margins is another switch-hitter, Brooks Lee (Cal Poly). Lee is a throwback ballplayer who further endears scouts with his makeup, passion and instincts for the game, in addition to his elite bat-to-ball skills from both sides of the plate, but especially the left side.

The top mid-major prospects include No. 8 Chase DeLauter (James Madison), No. 37 Eric Brown (Coastal Carolina), and No. 39 Zach Neto (Campbell).

2021: Played in 28 games, getting 19 starts ... Hit .254 with two doubles, four home runs and 14 RBIs ... Made two starts at first base and one behind the plate in the season opening series against Bellarmine ... Went back-to-back with Cameron Masterman in his first at bat of the season ... Dominic Keegan, who played first base for VU this year and was drafted in the 19th round on Tuesday by the New York Yankees, will return to school next season, according to a report from Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.

The Boston Herald’s Matt Feld also confirmed the report on Tuesday following the draft.


“We just lost in the national championship, and I want to go back and win another championship,” Keegan told Feld.

Keegan, who was announced as a catcher when the Yankees drafted him, will likely take over behind the plate at the position he was supposed to play in 2021. After suffering an early injury and the emergence of Rodriguez, however, Keegan shifted to first base.
