Redskins offered him more money but he signed back with Dallas
If it helps some in understanding why, Texas has no State income tax. Virginia has a progressive income tax. Although Virginia's tax is comparatively lower than others using the same system, it's still a tax on real dollars, and as such, the Dallas deal had the greater net for him.
Any idea why we offered that much?
Do we go after Rody Anderson or Demarcus Robinson? I would rather go after Robinson as he is cheaper.
22 million a year would have killed out cap space. Perhaps they have a plan to get more cap space?

I'm not sure about their motives, however it is highly likely that they got wind of the offer Dallas was putting up and gave their best competitive counter.
I like Robinson too! Not too sure about Anderson (no research on him)
22M would have taken a big bite out of our cap, but looking ahead, the optimistic view would include, having more from the departure of TW and whatever they plan to do with Kerrigan.
I would like to see us go after Funchess
With some of these teams filling their TE needs now, there's a real chance that this team has their pick of the better ones in the draft. I'll bet that this organization have plans to move into better draft position(s) after they select Chase Young.
Agreed buddy...lets team Robinson with the 3 Amigos (McLaurin, Harmon and Sims) and cut them lose.
My desire now is:
Boston = FS
Poole = CB
Littleton = LB
Ebron = TE
There is simply no options for a LT right now. I also think we can trade Dunbar for a decent pick. OR resign him hopefully.
If he continues to demand a trade, we do so and sign Poole.
I agree we can trade Kerrigan and TW to the Chargers would be great!
Boston will ask for a nice chunk of change, but of those listed if we can get Littleton and Ebron, I'd be ok with that. It MIGHT be a bigger bite than our team is able to chew to get them all, but if it can be worked out, who's going to complain?
I think there are plans in the works to go for quality over quantity in this,draft. Remember how it took us all by surprise when they moved up to get Sweat? Well, now we know that they're willing to sacrifice one for the other. I believe that there's a minor consensus that this is a very talented draft pool and I think that getting starter caliber players is going to be the goal instead of a number of projects.Not sure if they will be there? We can't touch a TE in the draft until the 3rd round.

I would hope so but its not like we have a ton of draft picks...LOL[/QUOTE
Ended with 10 picks last year and made 2 trades during the draft.
This year we begin with 7 while waiting for a return for TW. Bet that we trade again in this draft!
well once you accept that this team will not be fixed in one offseason , then you will be fine
trading dunbar would negate the fuller signing , back to square one
if dunbar signs a big contract somewhere else next year we get comp picks
perhaps keeping him under RR and JDR will convince him to stay
I prefer to wait and get the comp pickI would love to have Dunbar here Skinsdad but once again, he wants out. We have 2 players now who have publically said they want out right? We either lose him and get nothing back next year or at least get a pick out of what. What do you prefer?
I do not think we will fix the team in 1 offseason but we can surely take a step forward. We are a 4 win team and we are in a precarious position with Haskins. If we cannot protect him and if we do not give him weapons, we will go nowhere. This is not a college team in that we have a3-5 year plan. We are missing key components to having a successful team and are just about out of options. I know you defend this team tooth and nail but we could have been much smarter the last 2 days.
We have tried overspending in free agency under Vinny and recently we have been very selective spenders in FA under Bruce. The facts bear that out and neither has worked. You have told me for 10 years that "we need to do it right". I am guessing we will have this same conversation for the next 10 years probably. I think we need a full time GM and not a combo of RR and KS.
I would rather be smart here and fill holes where we can. Why not sign Brian Poole and trade Dunbar so he doesn't be a cancer in the locker room.
