Alot of people were upset Jeffery left last year. I think the bears made the right call given his injury history. The Eagles give him a 1 year prove it deal, and he plays very well for a whole season. Something the bears hadn’t seen from him in a while. Jeffery out 6 months after surgery, source says

Jeffery played through a torn rotator cuff suffered in training camp. If the same thing happens while he’s on the bears after signing a long contract, he sits out the season, no doubt. He’s a nice player, but he will never last a whole season again unless he has financial reasons to do so. Throughout the season, I thought letting him go was a mistake, but after this surgery, I think it was the right move. Have the eagles resigned him yet?

And yes... Jeffery signed a 4 year/52 million dollar extension. Which coupled with his 1 year/16 million dollar deal from this past season, amounts to 5 years/68 million that they have shelled out to him.

Jeffery, from a statistical standpoint was pretty damn bad this year in a thriving offense... I don't understand why he's so overvalued. He hasn't had more than 821 yards in a season since 2014, and once again... has proven he cannot stay healthy.

Can't stay healthy and can't get separation is a bad, bad combo for a WR. The Eagles might be one of the few offenses that permits Jeffrey to succeed at this point in time right now. I don't think there's any reason to get upset over letting Jeffrey leave per se in isolation.
