I dislike how you said "I hope others will follow suit". As commish you and I need not to let our views influence others decisions. Now you have the full right to say how your going to vote but not how others should do the same as you. Like I posted I go by head to head match ups while you have another way of voting. Just like the last draft we did I really like most of the teams and it's going to be hard to decide.
But couldn't current players be considered being all time greats? Lebron, Duncan and a few others shouldn't be disqualified because they still are playing.
Floor spacing was pretty much what my whole draft was based on, which I what I guess why you liked my team Clayton. This is always the hardest part. The game has evolved since the 3pt line. My personal opinion is that everyone always overrates the 80s in every sport while overlooking players before and after.
A portion of my grading will be spacing. Not a lot of older players have great outside shots so you're going to need some newer players
I just wanted to share what I will be judging on....
This is an all time draft so if you picked a bunch of current players that will hurt you when I vote and I hope others will follow suit.
If you drafted 4 SG's and 1 PF that will also hurt you when I vote.
I will vote on who I think put the best team together to score like crazy, that doesnt mean everyone has to have scored 20,000 points in their career but if you have 2 starters who are "defensive guys" and score 8 pts a game, that will hurt you when I vote.
I don't expect everyone to feel the way I do but if you drafted with the thinking you'd be a great defensive team you will not get my vote, as I said before these are the greatest players in the history of the league, they will not be stopped.
I agree and you'll notice I didn't say anyone would be disqualified for drafting current players.
I believe you are referring to my team... Thing is, I have balanced it out, Depending on matchups... I don't feel too many other teams have the balance I do and to ignore the defensive studs I have would be crazy... Somebody drafted Steve Kerr, Tim Hardaway is going to struggle to defend at his height you must have balance, you must play D, who does Charles Barkley guard...? The Shaq Willis Reed tandem is 1 sided, but Shaq is an average defender at best and Reed will be guard players like Dirk, Melo and McAdoo... Rings and HOF players have to be included...
Anyhow, do you know when you're posting matchups...? I would like to post stats and my final lineups...![]()
In football someone (not saying u don't know) took Payton manning and he was a great pick so why not in basketball take a current player?
Everyone let us know how you want your final line up. We will not be including stats because that will be to long. Matchups will be randomly drawn just like draft order and nos and I will hopefully post it tonight or tomorrow morning.
crap, can I draft Curly Neel as my point guard? assists galore and can make half court shots with ease.
I shook Curly's hand when I was a kid, my aunt brought me to see them and we were in the 2nd row main floor, it was awesome, I was like 8 years old.
