Based on the renowned manga/anime series Battle Angel Alita, produced by James Cameron (Avatar, Titanic, Terminator) and directed by Robert Rodriguez (Machete, Sin City, Planet Terror):

I was unimpressed by the first trailer, but the later trailers were much better. Just watching the trailers in succession, you get used to her eyes, so I imagine you would get used to her eyes in the film pretty quick. I actually like the large eyes: it's an interesting way to give her a distinctive look and indicating she is a cyborg quite different from normal humans.
Maybe this film will bomb -- the performance of Ghost in the Shell (2017) perhaps suggests that Western audiences might just not be much interested right now in live-action adaptations of manga/anime -- but box office performance is not necessarily indicative of quality.
James Cameron's track record and attention to detail is legendary. While I am disappointed that Cameron is not directing himself, and Robert Rodriguez's resume does not match Cameron's, the script is still Cameron's, and Rodriguez has shown how good he can be at his best (Sin City). This has been a passion project for Cameron for decades. Watching interviews, you can see the belief and enthusiasm of the filmmakers and actress for the film, so at the very least, this is a film made with true effort and commitment:
