Well, I see I was completely wrong in thinking Victorino was washed up last year.

No bottom-of-the-9th, Red Sox!

Clean inning to end it, please!

Perfect execution from Pedroia!

What else does one expect from him, though?

Might have known Dempster wouldn't manage a clean inning, but we won.

GO RED SOX!

Well When Lester did not get that called 3rd strike and then on the next pitch gave up that moon shot I thought he would totally lose his composure and become so so at best. He handled it really well after the initial F You. The Red Sox offense came to play today but thanks to terrible defense by the Rays, which is so wierd to see them play like that yet not be called for any errors.

Napoli shocked the heck out of me by avoiding that tag, very close but it did appear he just got a finger tip in there on the bag.. Glad I was not that umpire trying to make that call there.

Too bad Cleveland didn't beat Tampa Bay in the WC game. Tampa is shatting the bed, not even putting up a fight. A major disgrace.

That was a great take out slide by Victorino tho to force the bad throw.

Not really breaking news but wow the Trop is a colossal piece of shit. This field makes it difficult to watch a game.

Another year - another playoff disappointment for Tampa Bay

I'm not going to say Maddon is a bad manager. He is a very good one in my opinion but for all of the butt kissing he gets from the media about how smart and great he is his teams sure do come up small in the playoffs.

Do not blame Maddon. He gets praise (and deserves even more) for getting the most out of the shitty team his ownership presents him.... Imagine if James Shields got the start last night... Or if Carl Crawford was on the basepaths??... The owners need to open their wallets if they want to advance past the first round more often....

Without Maddon, the Rays would have no post season experience...

Trading Shields and letting Crawford walk were two wins for the Rays, not downfalls.

I live in Florida now, but I'll be up in Boston this weekend and hopefully I'll be going to either game 1 or 2 of the ALCS. Tickets on stubhub are fairly reasonable right now with the cheapest being around $100
