Aldon Smith rumor NOTE Rumor only at this point

BUt the rumor is, the Niners are considering parting ways with him BEFORE 2014 even starts. I bring it up for two reasons.

1. We are #2 in all waiver wire claims

2. His cap hit if we claimed him off waivers would be $2.5 million

Granted this would bring even MORE attention to the Skins. BUt Just throwing it out there to spin as a distraction from the RG3 saint vs sap arguement.

IM neither for or against. Just throwing it out there as its a slow time and we can only argue about who we should take in the draft, and who was rsponsible for last year but so much.

interesting thought. Well this does encourage me to believe that more cuts will occur before pre-season.

How is he going to get to DC? By bus? Just kidding. I don't even want to think about his football future right now. I truly believe that the league or 49ers need to suspend him a minimum of 1 year at this time. Otherwise - he will probably not learn anything, and I also believe that you need to send a cautionary msg to other players.

I don't think a stick like Smith can play inside however, Vilma is still out there as well...

So why would anybody consider moving Smith inside? He's doubled the best season either of our OLBs have ever had in the sack category. He had more sacks than both our OLBs but played in 5 less games.


Is he a head case? God yes.


Is he more talented than anybody on our defense? God yes.


Is the cost worth the risk...sure.
