So, basically the deal helps free up the cap savings now, on releasing brooks on June 1st.

Yes because right now Smith salary cap is only like 5 mill where he would of counted for 9 mill. that is why is saves them money now and they can go out and sign others. At the end if he stays out of trouble we pay him the full boat and we might have to cut someone later in the season if we don't have the space.
