If Toronto and Baltimore both lose today, and Detroit wins, that means the Detroit/Cleveland game needs to be played on Monday. If Detroit wins that, there is a 3-way tie for the AL WC, which is scheduled to be played on Tuesday.

Anyone see the play-in scenario if this this occurs?

Here are the AL wild-card tiebreaker scenarios for Blue Jays, Orioles and Tigers

Three-way ties are broken by having teams pick between slots. Team A hosts Team B, with winner becoming the top wild card. Team C would host the loser, with the winner becoming the second wild card.

Blue Jays and Orioles lose AND Tigers win: Tigers would play Monday's makeup game, and if they win the Blue Jays would get first pick, assuredly Team A, and the Orioles would get second pick, which means choosing hosting one do-or-die game for the second wild card or playing twice on the road with two shots at making the postseason.

In other words, it could be a busy Sunday and a wild upcoming week -- and that's before the actual playoffs themselves start.

Det/Clev play on Monday even if just one of Balt or Toronto loses. As long as Tigers win today.

There is actually a scenario where Det and Cle play, even if Det is eliminated today. The game may be needed for HFA.

That would have been if Boston won and they ended up tied with Cleveland.
