Because bunting is stupid, especially in the 3rd inning. Dont confuse results with the process. They lucked out getting 2 runs there, that is most definitely not the norm. You give away an out, and your run expectancy actually goes down. I can see why teams do it in the late innings, but playing for 1 run in the 3rd inning is silly
