Red Sox Season Review: Eduardo Rodriguez
A lot of people do forget/don't realize about the Miller trade is that Miller became a free agent shortly after. Sox could have offered him the money to return to Boston. I'd do this trade all over again and I can't wait to see what Eduardo can do in 2017. His 2016 stats are bit misleading; he struggled badly in his initial return with command (and possibly pitch tipping?), but he was very good after the ASB.

I do think this is a bit overblown. Encarnacion will be tough to replace, but Bautista was worth less than 1.5 WAR. The offense could be pretty blah, but they should still have the pitching and good defense. They have two very solid young pitchers in Sanchez and Stroman. Still some good pieces there with Donaldson (the 2nd best player in MLB over the last four seasons), Pillar, Tulo, Martin (though he might no longer be the catcher he was in 2013-15) and Devon Travis. Saunders had a decent offensive season, but he did tail off in the 2nd half and is very replaceable.

Do't think Bautista's back next year but I hope they bring back Encarnacion. Dirk Hayhurst on TSN said they should kick the tires on trading Donaldson, I hope they don't do that.
