Odor and Lucroy PLUS 21st and 22nd round

10th and 19th round and SWAPPING 17th round picks

10th and 19th round and SWAPPING 17th round picks
Also, in a league with 8 keepers, a 10th round pick is a 2nd round pick. Granted, the options are a lot weaker, but you can't trade anything earlier than a 9th.
still a craptastic trade... I would say both Odor and lucroy are low end keepers, but they are keepers none the less...
I do need a refresher course on this leagues keeper rules, but assuming Odor and/or Lucroy CAN be kept then this is an a vetoable trade...
IF the team trading them has such good keepers that both Odor and lucroy are not keepers then you have to assume it is a pretty good team, so why play for the future??
I think the idea is that low end keepers are easily replaceable. If Odor and LuCroy are cast back into the player pool, they can be repicked next year. Also, I could easily imagine a scenerio where a rebuilding team would not need to keep either. Perhaps they have injured studs who are more valuable and/or a couple über prospects that they plan to retain.
I look at this deal in that the two players moving are short term rentals, and the cost is a couple high picks next year.
Still, yhe picks in question are absolutely useless to the owner trading away talent. A 9th and 10th, then MAYBE I'd look at it... but 10th and 19th? It makes no sense.
I agree that he should have gotten better picks, but not 9 and 10.
Fringe keepers just don't have that much value in leagues like this. It is much like trading Aroldis Chapman in MLB 2 months before he becomes a free agent. You aren't getting full price for the rental.
